This was the basis of the books without which there would have been no story. The third and last film brings this fantastic story to an end. This original version concludes the trilogy of Stieg Larsson's crime drama with unexpected twists and turns for our heroine. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Please try againSorry, we failed to record your vote. The third and final installment of Stieg Larsson's "Millennium" series finds hacker Lisbeth Salander fighting for her life in an ICU. I think they are excellent, of course the dvds are a somewhat shortened version of the books Journalist Mikael Blomkvist is aided in his search for a woman who has been missing for forty years by Lisbeth Salander, a young computer hacker. In doing this she plays against powerful enemies and her own past.Rated R for strong violence, some sexual material, and brief language Lisbeth is recovering in a hospital and awaiting trial for three murders when she is released. I guess the problem is that there is not a great deal of action per-se in the book, so there are a few re-writes from the book that jar in the viewing. However, if one hasn't read the book it may not be noticed, but I felt it was not as cohesive as the previous 2 films.

First in a series of three. Reviewed in the United Kingdom on November 20, 2011 This is the Swedish version, with subtitles. I felt she was made to look much weirder than in the book. With the help of journalist Mikael Blomkvist and his researchers at Millennium magazine, Salander must prove her innocence. Highly tecommended
You can watch a dubbed English version, but I'd rather watch it in the original Swedish with subtitles. As computer hacker Lisbeth and journalist Mikael investigate a sex-trafficking ring, Lisbeth is accused of three murders, causing her to go on the run while Mikael works to clear her name.
A must see if you like modern mysteries. The pace never lets up and at its end you really want to continue your journey with Lisbeth Salander. The movie is long, 3 hours, but can easily be watched in two sittings as these films were obviously originally aired as a 6 part series, so there is a definate break after 1.5 hours before the next episode begins.
A divorced woman and her diabetic daughter take refuge in their newly-purchased house's safe room, when three men break-in, searching for a missing fortune.
I really enjoyed all three and it is a great shame that we shall see no more of Lisbeth Salander.I am pleased that I read the books before watching the films because for me it helped in following the many twists and turns in the storyline which does differ a little from the wriiten plot. The book of this film was very thick so I expected a few cuts but there were a couple of large chunks missing. I have read all 3 books and now seen all 3 dvds .
There was no mention of the cleaner who was paid a lot of money just to do a simple thing and it was very relevant to the plot as to how she was able to "get those responsible". Like the previous two movies, The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest is based on a popular Swedish thriller by the same name. Overall I was not disappointed even though I knew the ending. With Michael Nyqvist, Noomi Rapace, Lena Endre, Annika Hallin.
I tend to disagree with Mr. Berardinelli's review in calling this 'an abject failure as a stand-alone motion picture', simply because it was never supposed to be a stand-alone motion picture. A journalist is aided by a young female hacker in his search for the killer of a woman who has been dead for forty years. The final film in the triology, much better in the original language. The special features contain extra filming of the cast members on set and interviews which give the fictional characters a three-dimentional aspect.
In a world where families are limited to one child due to overpopulation, a set of identical septuplets must avoid being put to a long sleep by the government and dangerous infighting while investigating the disappearance of one of their own. Speak Swedish for God's sake! Saw the first of this trilogy (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) at the cinema with subtitles. This one is actually pretty solid, if a bit lengthy. The language in this movie is Swedish with sub-titles, thank God. After reading the trilogy I find it difficult to watch the films but given the length of the film it was reasonably well done and quite exciting. Mikael must prove her innocence, but Lisbeth must be willing to share the details of her sordid experiences with the court. Slow and mostly devoid of the stellar chemistry between its two leads, The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest …
And a worth one she is!Reviewed in the United States on September 13, 2017 I wasn't terribly thrilled with the first two films of the trilogy.
