She was a vocalist with the bands Dada and Vinegar Joe, and later became a solo artist.She gained her biggest success in the late 1970s and 1980s, releasing 13 UK Top 75 singles, and reached the top ten with "Pearl's a Singer", "Sunshine After the Rain" and the title track of the album No More the Fool. But Elkie Brooks has a tremendous voice and could sing the phone book and still be intriguing. 1975-11-23 Stockholm, Sweden Photo size: 2.8" x 8.4" inches . In my younger days I was a devoted fan of Janis Joplin - I wish I had latched onto Elkie in those days as I missed so much. Top international reviews ...
