A beautiful reflection of life in the search for right to die with dignity There’s humour, moral issues and a sense of sadness but it’s a winner for me and excellently played out ending. A Very Well Told Tale That Doesn't Try and Force an Opinion on Controversial Topics its Characters Bring to the Screen When he discovers he doesn't have very long to live, he decides to drive through the heart of the country to Darwin, where he's heard he will be able to die on his own terms; but along the way he discovers that before you can end your life you've got to live it, and to live it you've got to learn to share it. A great soundtrack with hits by well-known Aussies.

Great film, great script and acting and good to see places I first visited back in 1990 too, Daly Waters Pub, the Devil’s Marbles, Darwin and I must check the end credits as I think it also included Mataranka thermal pool(?). Obviously aspects of this film are targeted at an American market, as we call cabs taxis here in Australia, and the colour of the one in this film is yellow like a New York cab. That person does need to go past the stump to see...It's not so much the destination but the physical and emotional journey embarked on in this thoughtful, culturally authentic road trip.Well meaning and there is no shortage of heart, yet Jeremy Sims' film never quite delivers the warm package it intends.Last Cab's real triumph is Caton's warmth and vulnerability as Rex discovers late in life what really matters.An exceptionally warm, funny, touching and human film.

But the other crabs drag him back down and tell him bruva you’re one of us you can’t escape what you are. Although it was released in 2015 it’s taken five year’s for me to get to hear about it. One could almost swelter in the intense heat of the day driving along those long stretches of dirt roads and highways with hardly a car in sight, I think this is where Rex's journey really begins.
