This Ken Loach film tells the story of a man devoted to his family and his religion. This film contemplates making art and trying to speak about repression while capitalism tries to commodify and defang any attempts to critique structures of power and capital.Ken has used his art all his life to talk about class struggle and I thank him dearly for it.I really wanted to be able to get into this film, but I just couldn’t.
